Laine painting a rainbow
Rainbows were a special part of Laine’s life. For the last year or two, Laine drew rainbows by the hundreds. She would sometimes leave notes with rainbows for me when I traveled for work. And inexplicably and strangely, for the entire week after Laine died, we had rainbows fill our skies every day. And to top it all off, there was a beautiful and bold double rainbow over St Bede’s church immediately following Laine’s memorial service. Laine was painting the sky with rainbows.
Yes we all saw that rainbow among the clouds over St Bede’s on that very very sad saturday afternoon when around 500 people gathered to say goodbye to you Laine.
But you were painting rainbows up there looking down, you and your sister Mia, watching all of us. I will never forget that moment. Everybody had a smile on their face when they saw that double rainbow.
