Laine was curious about everything.  She and I would talk about really strange stuff.  She would ask questions about why drains were where they were, their purpose, the purpose of leaves being pointy, why fire hydrants looked as they did, and many other assorted topics.  She is posing next to a fire hydrant outside of our house after having learned about it.

On that same walk, she encountered a lost turtle, and learned all about it.  She was quite distressed when I suggested that it might have been abandoned.  She wanted to take it, but I said no.  She was sad about that.
