Our very dear friend Jeff Jasper had a beautiful dream the night of Laine’s 11th birthday – August 17, 2018.  Here it is, written in an email he sent me (posting with Jeff’s permission):

Good morning Mathai,

Last night I had a dream that I was (for some reason) sleeping on a sofa at your house. In the middle of the night children were running all over the place. You came by and told me “have a good day” and off you went, wearing a blue tee shirt. I thought, how cool is that that Mathai can go to work wearing a tee shirt. Then more children came into the living room, including Laine, and she smiled at me and ran by with the other children. They were laughing and screaming and carrying blankets or towels, and stuffed animals. Mathew came by and smiled as he stood in the middle of the room with the kids running circles around him, then he left for school or something. I decided to get up and walked around the house (which looked like a huge Spanish villa with an interior courtyard) with children and adults all over the place (one of the kids had a large stuffed toy that looked like a carrot, I think). Any way, I decided that I wasn’t going to be able to go back to sleep with all of the commotion, so I would just get ready for work- then I woke up. I smiled realizing that it was Laine’s birthday today.
